Raffle Rules & Regulations
Lottery Licence # RAF1456361 — Effective: May 2023 – April 2024
1. Name of Raffle
Trent University Employee 50/50 Raffle Draw (the "Raffle"), operated by JackTrace Raffle Hub under licence number RAF1456361 issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
2. Eligibility
- Open to all current employees of Trent University, including full-time, part-time, and contract staff
- Participants must be at least 18 years of age
- Participants must be residents of Ontario, Canada
- Members of the raffle organizing committee and their immediate family members are not eligible to win
3. Ticket Purchase
- Tickets are $5.00 each per draw cycle
- Tickets are purchased via payroll deduction only
- Each payroll deduction entitles the participant to one (1) ticket per draw
- Participants may purchase multiple tickets per draw (maximum of 5 tickets per draw)
- Ticket purchases are non-refundable once the draw cycle has begun
4. Draw Schedule
- Draws are held bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m. EST, following each pay date
- The complete draw schedule is published on the Draw Dates page
- In the event of a statutory holiday falling on a draw date, the draw will be held on the next business day
5. Prize Structure (50/50)
The prize pool for each draw is calculated as follows:
- 50% of total ticket sales for that draw cycle goes to the winner
- 50% of total ticket sales is retained by JackTrace for charitable and community initiatives
- The exact prize amount varies with each draw depending on total ticket sales
6. Draw Procedure
- Winners are selected by an electronic random number generator
- The draw is conducted in the presence of at least two (2) raffle administrators
- Each ticket is assigned a unique ticket number upon purchase
- The winning ticket number is recorded and published on the JackTrace website
7. Winner Notification
- Winners will be notified by work email and/or phone within 24 hours of the draw
- Winners must claim their prize within thirty (30) days of notification
- Unclaimed prizes after 30 days will be rolled into the next draw's prize pool
- Winners consent to the publication of their name, department, and photograph on the JackTrace website
8. Prize Payment
- Prizes are paid by cheque or direct deposit within five (5) business days of prize claim
- Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes on their winnings
- A T4A slip will be issued for prizes exceeding $500.00 as required by the Canada Revenue Agency
9. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes regarding the raffle draw shall be resolved by the raffle organizing committee. The committee's decisions are final and binding. In the event of a technical malfunction during the draw, the draw will be voided and rescheduled.
10. Withdrawal
Participants may withdraw from the raffle at any time by submitting a written request to the Raffle Hub administration. Withdrawal takes effect at the start of the next draw cycle. No refunds are issued for the current cycle.
11. Amendments
JackTrace reserves the right to amend these rules with reasonable notice to participants. Any material changes will be communicated via email and posted on this website.
12. Compliance
This raffle is conducted in compliance with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Act and all applicable regulations of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). A copy of the lottery licence is available for inspection upon request.
